RAPID-UK exists to provide experienced disaster response personnel anywhere in the world when required and to facilitate sustainable training and mitigation programmes in disaster prone countries.

Parth's Latest visit May 2005
May 2005 brought the latest visit from our friends from Rapid UK, Parth Joshi and his family. Despite being nearly 2 inches taller he was still managing to get up to his usual activities using his prosthesis. However, by cycling to and from school each day Parth was finding the socket progressively less comfortable. This, accompanied by the fact he had gone up 2 shoe sizes meant a new prosthesis was necessary.

We were delighted to discover that Parth has got so much out of his visits to us here at Ortho Group that he has decided to look into a career as a Prosthetist in India. We wish him the greatest success with this and I have offered any help he may require. We look forward to next year when Parth and his family will come to see us again
